Jeremy Clarkson: "Execute them all" |
If I had my way, I'd have all of you shot!
Jeremy Clarkson is in the news again for saying
he’d have public sector workers shot for going on strike on 30 November. Just
in case you missed it, here it is.
At time of writing, the BBC has received over 21,000
complaints from viewers. I wonder how many of them actually saw The One Show on
Wednesday, and how many had to search the internet specifically for the
video, just so they could join in with being outraged.
Dear BBC, I don’t watch The One Show or know anyone that does,
but I was horrified when I read Jeremy Clarkson’s comments in The Sun, blah, blah, blah. I had to
watch it several times just to make sure I was offended enough. People like that, they're the ones who should be shot.
The clip’s been all over the news for the past 36 hours;
mind you its not as though there are any important news stories going on at the
moment, what with the Eurozone crisis being solved and the Syrian government
not murdering civilians any more. Now there's a government that knows how to deal with protesters.
The online papers all have opinion polls where you can vote on
whether you think Clarkson's comments were ‘deeply offensive’ or whether he was ‘obviously
joking’. Well that's a tough one, you stupid bastards, try looking up satire.
Here's my idea: If you don't like Jeremy Clarkson, don't fucking watch him! Your TV has an off button. But some people would rather watch, be offended, and then whine.

Clarkson Apologising Yesterday |
And apparently UNISON is demanding Clarkson be sacked over his 'disgusting comments'. Maybe you guys should lighten up and stop trying to win the 'Who's the biggest drama queen' competition. People will just think you're twats.
Can anyone remember what the real issue is here? Well I think its this: Was Jeremy Clarkson a wee bit spineless to apologise just because he's been slapped down by the beeb? Personally I think he was, but I certainly wouldn't have him shot for it, or indeed for his comments. His dress sense, well ok, maybe.
Top Gear makes the BBC more money worldwide than any other show (source: some guy), so like it or not, they're not going to sack him. I mean, its not as though he's accused lorry drivers of murdering prostitutes or Korean car workers of eating spaniels. That would have been controversial.
